Was looking through my inspiration folder today and saw the works of one of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) fashion designer Hussein Chalayan. He’s known for his experimental pieces, which to me look like pure art on the runway. If you haven’t heard of him, I strongly suggest you do a little research and familiarize yourself with his work (or just save this post, haha). He’s utterly amazing.

His ready-to-wear stuff is wonderful too (I’d love to have any of these!):

God, I love design.
“If Karenin had been a person instead of a dog, he would surely have long since said to Tereza, ‘Look, I’m sick and tired of carrying that roll in my mouth every day. Can’t you come up with something different?’ And therein lies the whole of man’s plight. Human time does not turn in a circle; it runs ahead in a straight line. That is why man cannot be happy: happiness is the longing for repetition.”
- Milan Kundera, Unbearable Lightness of Being
I’m going to be thinking about this all day now. Haha. Thank you for sharing, Afton. :)
